The Seronera public campsite is in the center of the Serengeti, perfect for game drives and close-up game viewing. From here you will start directly for your morning game drive. At the campsite there is an area where you can pitch your tent, a public shower and toilet. Although the National Park makes a huge effort to always provide water for showers, occasionally there may be no water. In addition, the campground offers a dining area. Please note that there is no fence or boundary to keep wild animals from reaching the campground. Therefore, move with caution and stay inside the tent during the hours of darkness
This day begins in the heart of Serengeti, the Seronera Valley, among umbrella thorn acacias and huge fig trees. The range of hills in the north feed several waterholes which attract numerous impalas, antelopes, reedbucks and baboons. Hippos splash around in the water, leopards rest on the acacias and lions take naps in the high grass. This day is completely devoted to game drives in Serengeti. You can decide how you would like to organize the day.
If you are up for it, you can go for an early morning game drive today. We start right after a coffee and a small snack. The sunrise might bring a great light for your holiday pictures in the Serengeti. Often hyenas, active hippos are seen and maybe also a pride of lions having breakfast. Experience the unique atmosphere in the savannah where the air is fresh and clean. After brunch, you will go on your next game drive and will take some breaks for pictures heading to the Ngorongoro Crater.
Simba Camp Ngorongoro (Full Board) for 1 night
The beautiful Simba Camp is located directly on the crater rim. From the campsite you can enjoy an amazing view over Ngorongoro Crater and the shadow of a huge fig tree. At night, zebras, buffalos and warthogs eat the grass next to the tent and an elephant regularly visits the water tank on the top of the sanitary facilities. These are simply equipped and there is hot water. Next to the dining room there is a building for preparing meals. At almost 2000 meters in altitude, it can get surprisingly cold, please take some warm cloth. It is an hour's drive from the Simba Camp to the crater floor.
Early birds can enjoy the spectacular sunrise above the crater. You will then go down the steep hills to the crater floor of Ngorongoro. Keep your cameras at the ready, as there is nowhere else with a higher animal density. The crater, which was declared a UNESCO, World Heritage site, is a romping ground for almost all species of the East African wildlife. With a little bit of luck, you will have the chance to see the endangered black rhino, which is part of the “big five” together with the buffalo, lion, elephant and leopard! In the afternoon, you will leave the crater and will head to the Tarangire National Park.
