This 4-day Tanzania classic lodge safari offers an unforgettable journey through Tanzania’s most iconic wildlife regions. After arriving at Kilimanjaro Airport, you’ll travel to Karatu, where you’ll explore the Ngorongoro Highlands on a guided walking safari, discovering waterfalls, monkeys, and the fascinating elephant caves. Then, enjoy a thrilling game drive in the Ngorongoro Crater, home to the “Big Five” and other incredible wildlife. On the final day, visit Lake Manyara National Park for a game drive through its diverse landscapes, where you’ll spot flamingos, elephants, and the famous tree-climbing lions. Your safari concludes with a transfer to Arusha Airport. Throughout the trip, you’ll stay at Pembeni Rhotia Camp, a lodge offering stunning views of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

Itinerary
Today you land at Kilimanjaro Airport (JRO) not far from the equator. Together with your safari guide, you begin the transfer drive to Karatu, a small town in north-eastern Tanzania. The evergreen Karatu plateau is the perfect place for safari excursions to the nearby beautiful national parks. On the way there, you can make a stopover in Arusha to take in your first impressions of Africa, have a coffee or buy fresh fruit at the market.

Pembeni Rhotia - Standard Room (Full Board) for 1 night
Location: The Pembeni Camp is in Rhotia on a hilltop with beautiful views of the valley and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Accommodation: The 15 tents are built out of locally sourced materials such as wood, clay bricks and canvas. There is a backup generator in case of a power outage and Wi-Fi services. Each Tent has a breathtaking views of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area from the balcony and a 48 square meters of floor space. A coat hanger, bedside table, mosquito net and luggage rack are in the room. Hot water is always available
On this two-hour walking safari through the forested slopes of Ngorongoro, you can set off on foot. After a short drive to the starting point of the hike, a ranger will take you into the conservation area. Discover waterfalls and streams, observe trumpeter hornbills and colobus monkeys in the treetops until you finally reach the incredible "elephant caves". The elephants travel long distances to dig up the soil and rock with their tusks and absorb vital minerals from the ground.

Today's extended game drive takes us to the Ngorongoro Crater, which is surrounded by a lush highland forest where leopards and buffalo roam. The crater has formed its own ecosystem due to its closed nature and is a place that makes the safari heart beat faster, as the "Big Five" are represented here. Black rhino, lions, elephants and hyenas, as well as herds of wildebeest, buffalo and zebra live on the grassy crater floor. In the late afternoon you leave the crater and return to your lodge.

Pembeni Rhotia - Standard Room (Full Board) for 1 night
The game drive in Lake Manyara National Park leads to the lake shore, where various bird species can be admired, including mostly large groups of flamingos and pelicans. You will pass through sections of acacia woodland, grassy floodplains and dense, green high forest. Your driver-guide will always be on the lookout for one of the famous tree-climbing lions. However, you will often encounter herds of elephants walking almost silently through the thicket. Depending on your departure time in Arusha, your driver-guide will start the drive to Arusha. The safari ends at the airport in Arusha.
